Thank you for joining us, João! Could you share a bit about yourself?

 

João: I'm always in pursuit of new experiences, whether that's surfing the waves or trapeze classes at the circus. My enthusiasm for exploring fresh activities and destinations, similar to the constantly advancing tech world, drives me to stay dynamic and adaptable, making sure I never stand still.

 

What did your journey to the programmatic industry look like?

 

João: My journey to the programmatic industry started with a solid background in business development. I refined my skills by collaborating with partners at digital advertising agencies, deepening my grasp of online advertising ecosystems and technologies. Working closely with major brands gave me the chance to dive into real business challenges, arming me with the knowledge and experience to stand out as a Business Development Manager in the programmatic sector. This background enables me to employ data-driven strategies and creative solutions to foster growth and partnerships. 

 

What brought you to GothamAds?

 

João: Last year, I ventured into a different area of Business Development, but my passion for programmatic and technology drew me back. Being part of the evolving opportunities in the AdTech world is always exciting. Joining GothamAds, a serious and renowned company, I'm confident that my journey here will be brilliant.

 

What do you do outside of work? Do you have any hobbies?

 

João: I'm passionate about exploring new destinations. For example, last year, I had 14 trips among work and personal ones. Traveling opens up the chance to experience new activities and create moments that we might not find back home. Apart from that, I love hitting the gym, occasionally surfing, and practicing yoga weekly.

 

What is one of the current programmatic trends you find most interesting?

 

João: I find the growing use of AI for targeting and optimization in programmatic advertising particularly fascinating. This technology is changing the game for advertisers by enabling them to analyze massive data sets in real-time, resulting in ads that are more relevant and tailored to their audiences.

 

What is the number one thing you’d recommend to someone who is interested in being a business developer manager?

 

João: We take “NOs” every single day. But it is ok, it's not the whole world who matches with us, so keep going because it's worth the deal.
